Written by Kathrin Thomas | 22/10/2024

Effective advertising in everyday road traffic is a good way for companies to present themselves with little effort these days. One of the most effective methods of making your brand visible is the wrapping of sprinters and vans. In this article, you will learn how Sortimo's services can transform your vehicles into mobile advertising spaces and make you visible on the roads and in everyday life.

What is foiling?

Foiling, also known as car wrapping, involves carefully applying a special film to the surface of a vehicle. Wrapping offers countless possibilities, from new colours and unusual patterns to personalised lettering – there are no limits. However, this craft also requires a practised eye and dexterity. It is therefore advisable to hire a professional to carry out this demanding work with precision. Sortimo offers you customised designs that are perfectly tailored to your van or Sprinter.

How much does car wrapping cost?

How much does it cost to wrap a car? There are many factors that influence the price of car wrapping. These include:

  • Size of the area to be wrapped: smaller areas are usually not as cost-intensive as large areas
  • Complexity and design: the more elaborate and detailed the design, the more expensive the price will be
  • Type of film: high-quality films are usually also expensive
  • Vehicle condition: older vehicles usually require a lot of preparation, which increases the price

Do I have to expect follow-up costs?

In principle, the handling of wrapping is very uncomplicated, similar to conventional paintwork. Maintenance is mainly limited to regular cleaning of the vehicle to keep the film in good condition. The service life of a film is usually around five to seven years. After that, however, you should expect the film to need renewing. Matt and textured films require a little more care, as dust settles more easily on these surfaces and cleaning is therefore more time-consuming.

Advantages of foiling for companies

Wrapping your car yourself vs. professional wrapping

Cleaning & care of foiled vehicles

A wrapped vehicle can be driven through the car wash without any problems. However, it is advisable to avoid car washes with nylon brushes and instead choose those with soft textile cloths to protect the film. It is better not to use (hot) wax as it can damage the film. When using a high-pressure cleaner, always keep a minimum distance of 50 cm from the vehicle surface and do not aim the jet directly at the edges of the film. This ensures that the film remains in the desired condition for a long time.

Conclusion

The possibilities of car wrapping are very diverse. Whilst DIY car wrapping may seem tempting at first glance, there are a number of hidden risks in terms of quality and safety. With Sortimo’s professional services, you get car wrapping that is quick, effective and cost-effective – and meets the highest quality standards.
